Second Annual Plant Sale – May 29th

I have been busy digging, dividing, weeding and cleaning the garden. There’s still much to do to be ready for company in the garden, but progress is made every day. You might want to know what you’ll find at the sale.

Some of the Plants divided from my garden are:

  • Allium senescens (curly chives)
  • Aster nova angliae ‘Alma Potschke’
  • Digitalis purpurea ‘Apricot Fairy Queen’
  • Geranium robertianum
  • Hostas: Abiqua Drinking Gourd, Grand Tiara, Halcyon, an heirloom large blue hosta, Striptease, a blue mini, and a few other unidentified varieties
  • Iris ensata ‘Shogun’
  •  Iris germanica ‘Florentina’
  • Iris sibirica ‘Suji Iri’
  • Iris tall bearded – extremely dark purple, name not known
  • Leucanthemum superbum (Shasta Daisy)
  • Polygonatum humile (Dwarf Solomon’s Seal)

Tomorrow I visit a wholesale nursery to buy some new and unusual plants. I will look for native wildflowers, ferns, dwarf goatsbeard, and some interesting new varieties of Astilbe, Oriental Poppy. And there will be room for an impulse purchase or two if I find something delightful for my garden and yours.

Used books on gardening will be for sale, courtesy of Second Hand Prose, in Acton, and there will also be a few pots and garden ornaments.

Stop by to browse, to buy, or to tour my gardens! I hope to see you, at 28 Pleasant Street, Groton, MA
